Google Contacts Application Will Get New Features

Google is currently testing a range of features and modifications in its Google Contacts application for the Android operating system, as was shown in the application's beta version.

New features include refreshing the information screen to show the time and weather for that address if a user adds a contact's address to the app.

Google eventually plans to connect the Maps and Contacts programmes, so if someone shares their location with you using Google Maps, it will appear in a panel on their contact page and, when you click it, the location will be displayed in the Maps application.

This feature will need users to link their phone numbers to their Google accounts in order for data to be synchronised between the various Google applications.

The call, text, video chat, email, and directions buttons are separated into separate circles in the redesign, which helps them stand out and visually distinguishable. The contact's individual photo is also placed in a circle rather than on Full screen, as it is today.

Additionally, Google will provide a section in the "Highlights" page where it will suggest people for you to add to your favourites based on how frequently you communicate with them.

Google might soon add these advantages and changes in upcoming upgrades to the programme or postpone their release until the end of this year to incorporate them in tandem with the launch of the Android 14 version. These benefits and changes are continually being investigated and improved.

A revamp for tablets and the addition of a widget utilising the new Material You design language are just two of the recent upgrades to the Google Contacts app.

In addition, Google recently added a birthday reminder feature to the app that allows users to enter a contact's birthday or any other date so that the app can alert them as the date draws near.
