Microsoft Edge Browser Will Support Displaying E-Books In EPUB Format

Microsoft is currently testing the feature of displaying e-books in EPUB format in its Edge browser, according to what was spotted in the latest beta version of the browser.

The new feature allows users to play and read e-book files in EPUB format on computers using Microsoft Edge browser without the need to install any additional software.

The feature is still in early development stages, however, it also allows browsing the content index as well as reference pages, and more tools are expected to be added later to improve the reading experience.

Microsoft had previously removed support for displaying files in the EPUB format from the Edge browser, along with other advantages, as it already existed several years ago, and this coincided with the cancellation of the sale of e-books from its store.

Microsoft has not yet officially indicated the return of the feature of displaying EPUB files within the browser, although it is present in the current beta version of the browser.

EPUB is a format for e-books that is approved by many publishers and readers alike and can be played on many devices.

Microsoft Edge browser already supports viewing PDF files directly on computers without external additions or installing additional software.

Microsoft is also testing other features in the Edge browser, including the image browser feature, in addition to a free VPN service with a capacity of up to 5 GB, and other features.
