Google has started making the Translate feature available in its Gmail email app.
The new feature enables users to translate emails directly within the Gmail app on Android and iOS.
The new feature will be available to users gradually, starting today and over the coming days and weeks.
Google has made the feature of translating emails available in the web version of Gmail a long time ago.
The feature works, as expected, to automatically detect mail messages written in a foreign language, and then suggest translating them into the user's language that is set as the default language within the operating system.
The option to translate into the user’s language appears at the top of the e-mail in the form of a banner, and when you click on it, the message appears translated, with additional options for displaying the original text, or always translating from a foreign language. You can also click on the settings icon for other advanced options.
The new feature supports the ability to translate from and to more than a hundred different languages, including Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Chinese and other languages.
The new feature saves users from relying on external applications to translate mail messages, as it will save a lot of effort and shorten many steps, and facilitate the process of communicating via e-mail.
Google allows the translation feature in Gmail for free personal account holders, in addition to subscribers of Google Workspace services.
