Apple is scheduled to launch the iPhone 15 phones this September with an A17 processor with a manufacturing accuracy of 3 nanometers, but it has not revealed it yet.
MediaTek is cooperating with the Taiwanese company TSMC to use its latest technologies in manufacturing the processor, and the company itself will produce the new Apple processors.
MediaTek did not publish many details about the processor, nor did it reveal its name, only saying that it would be part of its Dimensity series of processors.
According to the company, the processor will enter the mass production phase in early 2024, and devices running it will reach the market during the second half of next year.
The presence of the processor manufactured with a manufacturing precision of 3 nanometers will not be limited to smartphones and tablets only, but it is also expected that the processor will be found in “smart cars and various other devices,” according to the company’s statement .
The Taiwanese company says the processor is equipped with the necessary technologies to meet the “increasing user experience requirements” of mobile computing, high-speed connectivity, artificial intelligence, and multimedia.
Processors manufactured with a manufacturing precision of 3 nm provide improvements in power consumption and performance compared to older processors.
Compared to 5nm technology, processors with 3nm process technology will provide an 18% performance improvement while reducing power consumption by up to 32%.
